Homes For Lifetime Living: Outcomes Through Teamwork

Adventure in Building participated in the 5th annual Aging in Place Seminar at the HBA of Metro Orlando on October 18, 2012. Round table participants were asked to design a remodel for an accessible condo. This was an actual Adventure in Building project and participants were shown before and after floor plans and photographs of the project.

Healthy Homes Make Healthy Communities 
The NAIPC Central Florida Chapter hosted a Design Competition and Adventure in Building, Inc. provided input for developing the guidelines for this competition which was open to all Florida Designers interested in home accessibility. The winner presented his design at the fourth annual event, October 13, 2011 at the Home Builders Association of Metro Orlando.www.ageinplace.org/centralflorida

         NAWIC M.A.G.I.C Camp
Adventure in Building participated in the first annual NAWIC M.A.G.I.C. (Mentoring a Girl in Construction) Camp by soliciting donations from the local Home Depot and helping out on Carpentry/Crane Day. This week long camp encoraged five high school girls to consider construction as a future career by exposing them to activities such as plumbing, electric, HVAC, etc. Women role models also presented their personal views to the girls during several educational sessions.

Aging Well

In celebration of Aging in Place week, on October 13, 2010 Monarcha Marcet co-presented with Bill Ockenden, WAO Builders at the third annual National Aging in Place Council (NAIPC) event held at the Home Builder's Association of Metro Orlando.
